Why We Built Propty
The Problem Was Personal
Our founders have been landlords. They've used the spreadsheets, the sticky notes, the free tools that half-work. They've missed a gas safety renewal. They've had a tenancy dispute drag on because the paperwork was a shambles. They've felt the anxiety of not knowing if they're compliant. That frustration is what started Propty.
The Market Was Underserved
The UK has over 2.7 million private landlords managing 5.4 million rental properties. Yet the software available to them ranges from clunky legacy tools built in the 2000s to consumer apps that barely handle a basic tenancy. Letting agents aren't much better served. We saw a massive gap — and a massive opportunity to do something genuinely great.
We Built the Platform We Wished Existed
Propty was built from the ground up for the UK rental market. We interviewed landlords, letting agents, and tenants. We read the legislation. We mapped every compliance requirement. Then we built a platform that handles all of it — so you don't have to think about it.
We're Just Getting Started
